Jackson and I played some of those creativity games on braingle.com, and they were totally awesome. He liked them too, and he told me about Mafia, where the you pass out a card and if someone has a king, queen, or jack, they are a doctor, a heart, they're mafia, a spade (or something) they're a sheriff. The sheriff arrests somebody each turn, the mafia kills somebody each turn, and the doctor saves somebody each turn. Each team plans one at a time, whispering, only letting the "watcher" here it. He then tells the story at the end of each round. It sounds pretty awesome!
Everybody had a pretty good holiday break, so that's good too. Another thing I really noticed today on obsessing was that it's best sometimes to just talk to everyone around you at school because you don't get to see them at home, but you can do your personal research and projects at home on your own and do them better. Mr. Page really liked my idea on ADD for the science fair, and all I have to do now is think up a definite purpose for it. I noticed Mr. Page particularly loves it when a project has a direct connection to the real world and something practical. And that's good for him!
Well, everything seems to be going pretty well otherwise. Shauna keeps posting poems on DA, and I'll get MSN so we can talk to each other. I don't think that that would be considered obsessing, but I guess it's a matter of the way I look at it. I had the realization earlier that obsessing isn't trying to communicate to people, but the feeling that the attempt at communication is somehow unreasonable, not worth it, or that you're unworthy of such communication. Obsession, I can safely say now, is a feeling and style of doing things far different from determination. (and thank goodness for that!) So, I'll be talking to more people in the future and doing at-home type things at home.
